Why We Built Scrubs With Real Pockets (A Rant)
ROUNDS Founders·March 26, 2026· 3 min read

We need to talk about fake pockets. You know the ones — they look deep enough for a phone and a pen, but the second you actually reach in, your hand hits fabric two inches down. On a 12-hour shift, that's not a design quirk, it's a daily insult.
Every ROUNDS pant goes through a 'reach test' before it ships: can you comfortably fit and retrieve a phone, a badge reel, trauma shears, and a pen — while wearing gloves? If the answer is no, we redesign the pocket. Not the marketing copy, the actual pocket.
"It's a small thing until you're the one patting down four pockets looking for your badge while a call light is going off."
Good design on scrubs is invisible when it works and infuriating when it doesn't. We'd rather you never think about your pockets at all.
